Legislative Committee

The Legislative Committee consists of at least five, but no more than fifteen members. This Committee has the responsibility to scrutinize carefully, all proposed changes in the law, to encourage the passage of such to be beneficial, and to determine and oppose all such as appear to be detrimental; and, to consider and recommend to the Association such amendments of the law and of judicial procedure as will facilitate the administration of justice.

Public Relations Committee

The Public Relations Committee is responsible for creating opportunities to connect with private sector businesses that offer services to clerks of circuit court and establish relationships to develop mutually beneficial opportunities. The committee is responsible for the associate membership program which offers membership benefits to private sector partners who wish to join the VCCA. Associate members are non-voting members of the VCCA and can attend public meetings of the VCCA and are permitted to join various committees based upon the level of membership investment. The committee is charged with the maintenance and management of the VCCA website to communicate the mission of the VCCA to the residents of Virginia. The committee conducts periodic events and gatherings to enhance the clerks’ relationships with the associate members of the VCCA. The committee provides background support of the Legislative Committee’s efforts by organizing meetings and events with legislators.

Technology Committee

The Technology Committee reviews initiatives to enhance available revenue for technology and partner with VCCA vendors to facilate the technology that promotes efficiency to provide better service to the citizens and businesses in the Commonwealth.

Library of Virginia Grants Committee

The Library of Virginia Grants Committee serve on the Grant Review Board of the Circuit Court Records Preservation Program (CCRP), which is administered by the Library of Virginia and exists to preserve the permanent records maintained by circuit court clerks throughout the Commonwealth. Grants are funded through fees collected by circuit court clerks. Since its inception in 1991, the CCRP program has awarded nearly $25 million to support preservation efforts of circuit court clerks.
